Business process reengineering (BPR) first proposed by Michael Hammer and James Champy and popular in the1990s is considered as a revolution by management science and business circles. The theory points out that the enterprises must make business process-oriented organization reengineering in order to suit to new environment.Fuel electric industry is basic industry beneficial to the people’s livelihood, which at present occupies an important position in the energy structure of China. The healthy development of fuel electric industry is important to ensure social demand for electricity and to realize economic and social development stablely and quickly. But suffering lots of factors such as marketing coal, planned price, intense competition, environmental protection, the fuel electric enterprises are into trouble. How to improve the enterprise’s ability of adapting to the market changes, responding to policy changes, and promoting the relative competitiveness, becomes the industry issues of general interest. As a fuel electric enterprise, WD Company is also facing those challenges. Based on the challenges and relevant theory, the thesis analyses the current development of WD Company and puts forward to design of BPR.Firstly, the thesis uses the literature review method to take a retrospective analysis on BPR. This is the precondition of the thesis. Secondly, according to the practice, the thesis diagnoses the internal and external environment. The thesis also points out the existing shortcomings and problems in current organization structure and business process. This shows it is very important and necessary to take a BPR. Thirdly, the thesis analyses furtherly organization structure and business process, and following the specific requirement of BPR, establishes the basic principles and vision of organization reengineering. Finally, the thesis designs process reengineering schemes. At the same time, the thesis constructs organization reengineering supporting system in order to consolidate the quality and effect of organization reengineering. The design of business process reengineering and organization structure reengineering scheme are suitable for WD Company, helping to improve enterprise management performance, operation efficiency and decision-making efficiency. Moreover, It provides certain guidance and reference for other fuel electric enterprises’ BPR.
