Status, Problems And Solutions Of Increasing Farmer’s Income In Wangjiaqiao Town, Songzi City

This paper is an empirical research of increasing farmer’s income in Wangjiaqiao Town of Songzi City. Statistics analysis and investigation were used to demonstrate the current status, limiting factors, and resolution of increasing farmer’s income. Some conclusions could he drawn are as follows:(1) In recent years, the overall income of the farmers increased persistently, but the speed is low, in addition, the income gap is widening between urban and rural areas. Although wage income, household income and property income increased each year, household business income is always the largest part of the total income amount. Farmer’ low income and its low growing speed hinders improving farmer’ living standard and quality, and it also restricts the reproduction of agricultural investment. Further more, it influences farmer’cultural level to raise, even the development of rural market, so it is not conducive to the establishment of a comprehensive well-off society.(2) The constraints which affect farmer’ income include institutional factors such as medical insurance, household registration, education, social security, public goods serving, and financial system. Furthermore, some practical factors, such as the expensive capital goods, irrational structure of agriculture, agricultural market system is not perfect the transfer of rural surplus labors, labor’s quality also restrict increasing farmer’income.(3) To solve the problem of slow growth of farmers’ incomes need for comprehensive efforts and long-term process. Based on the status of the Wangjiaqiao Town, measures may mitigate these problems as follows:develop the agriculture of the pomelo, adjust the agricultural structure, promote the industrialization of agriculture; improve the rural market system; develop the logistics industry to meet the requirements of modern agriculture; speed up the transfer of rural surplus labor force, widen the surplus rural labor employment opportunities; implement scientific and technological agriculturepolicies to improve the cultural quality of the farmers; improve the household registration, social security and fiscal and tax policy to promote the growth of farmers’ income.
