The Path Of Inland Open Economy Development

Today our world is an open world and the economic globalization is an inevitabletrend of the world economy. Unswervingly carrying on the process of the reform andopening up, developing the inland open-economy pattern has become China’s strategyof economic development. Chongqing is the only municipality directly under theCentral Government in China’s inland areas. In2007, the Ministry of Commerce and theChongqing Municipal Government signed a joint construction of the inland openeconomy. In2009, the State Council, No.3has promoted the development of the inlandopen economy to the national strategic level. Chongqing has carried on multifacetedexploration and accumulated a lot of experience in development of inland open-economy pattern. But there is much distance between Chongqing and the eastern indevelopment of open-economy pattern. It’s necessary to study on the way of inlandopen-economy pattern on the basis of past experience.The paper analysis the open-economy theoretical basis and economy-related concepts,and is basic on the domestic and international research. After the directly study of theindex system of regional openness and the practice of inland open-economy pattern, wepresent the advices to improve the way of inland open-economy pattern at last. Thestudy of the paper include the following aspects: first of all, we set up the index systemof regional openness which include the external openness, the internal openness, thetourism openness and the supporting degree of openness, and conduct an assessmentand comparative analysis about the degree of opening up of31Provinces andautonomous regions. Chongqing is intermediate level and in the leading position ofinland region. Second, we analyze Chongqing’s practice on construction of inland open-economy pattern to sum up the experiences of building inland open-economy platform,innovating foreign trade processing pattern, fostering emerging industry and linkagebetween economy and society. The following part is locating the problems which areconfronted by Chongqing to construct the inland economy, accordingly present theadvices to improve the way of inland open-economy pattern at last.
