In recent years, the problem of college students’ employment equity triggered bythe family background is increasingly becoming a social focus. The studies relatedhave found that college students from the disadvantaged family background,compared with those from the advantaged family background, are at a disadvantageposition in the course of employment, which not only reflect the directintergenerational effects, but also show the indirect intergenerational effects byhuman capital, cultural capital, personality characteristics, social capital and socialstratification, etc. And some literatures also analyzes the impact on the employmentof college students in itself from from the perspective of job searching.However, theexisting studies do not explicitly combine family background factors and jobsearching together and study their impacts on the employment of college graduatesand their employment equity.Based on the point, this paper studies how familybackground impacts the employment of college students by roling in the ways of jobsearching, and analyzes step by step using a combination of theoretical and empiricalanalysis of the method combined with the group of micro data from the questionnairesurvey.This paper overall consists of four parts. The first part is the introduction, whichfirstly describes the present stage of the employment status of college students,research significance, literature review, study methods of this researcher, technologyroutes and potential innovation. The second part is the mechanism analysis of familybackground’s impacts on the job searching of college students, which firstly analyzesthe behavior performance of college students’ job searching, then provides a themodel analysis of family background’s impact on the employment of college studentsand fanally examines the influence of family background on the job searching processof college students from different channels.The third part empirically analyzes theimpact of family background on the employment of college students, whichemphasizes whether the family background has the indirectly influence on theemployment of college students through their behavior of job searching.And thispaper based on survey data, separately examines the family background’s direct andindirect effects on the employment of college students. The fourh part puts forwardsome policies and proposals based on the conclusion of this paper. Through the analysis, the basic conclusion of this paper is:(1)Family backgrounddoes more likely play a role in the situation of short supply that the numbers of jobvacancies do not exceed that of the unemployed in the whole labor market;(2)Thedirect impact of family background on the college students is not obvious while theindirect effect is more significant, which influences the employment wage by theindirect ways of job-searching information, Searching costs, Searching expectationsand Searching opportunities. And college students of advantaged family backgroundhave a comparative advantage in job searching process, also access to higheremployment wages;(3) The influence of family background factors on wages throughthe job searching process shows the imperfection of the performance of labor marketmechanism’ imperfection, reflects the characteristics of labor market which is theprocess of China’s transition to a market system and brings about the unfairemployment of college graduates in some degree.
