Life insurance industry is one of the fastest developing industries of our nationaleconomy in the past few decades. Its reformation and development play an importantrole in social stability and economic growth. Employee participation, which is thetendency and requirement of Modern Management, plays a crucial role in the HumanResource Management and management performances of the life insurance industry.The summarization of the characteristics of employee participation can be referencedfor its further systematization and the developing life insurance industry.We found out there are some problems of employee participation in HunanBranch of Ping An Life Insurance Company through research including literatureanalysis, interviews, questionnaires, comparative analysis and other methods. Theoverall level of employee participation in this company is not satisfied, participantsare more likely to use the following patterns: to rely on the comment system and theindependent team of employees, to reflect the views and suggestions to theirsupervisors, to consult and complain to the Human Resources Department. Otherways of participation do not put into good effect. Employees are eager to participate,however the mechanism of participative management is seriously deficient. Thesystematic platform of employee participation has not been founded yet. The lack ofskills and qualities make the employees have little understanding of employees’participation. Some senior managers, who are not good at handling management, donot value, do not agree, and even do not authorize. According to all these, theawareness of employee participation of Ping An Life Insurance Company HunanBranch should put both its leaders and its employees into consideration. It canimprove its employees’ sense of participation through intensive training, developjournals which including case studies promote self-learning, and the organization ofthematic speech contest, etc. It can gradually deepen its employee participationmanagement, build and perfect a series of participation policies that including theparticipation of corporate culture, the participation of feedback mechanism, theparticipation of reward system, and the informational exchange platform, throughregular meetings, strengthening of the autonomous work teams, increase grass-rootsopinion survey and post communicational participation, etc.This research is based on practice of employee participation in Ping An Life Insurance Company Hunan Branch. More than70percent of the staff participated inthe questionnaire and interview. Analysis of the research results will allow managersat all levels face the facts. And it makes them fully aware that the employeeparticipation plays an important role to increase employee satisfaction, enthusiasm,creativity, cohesion, and to improve corporate performance. So as to promote acorresponding reform of the employees involved in the overall transformation of thecompany’s human resources system, and ultimately to enhance the company’scomprehensive competitiveness.
