The rapid development of IT is gradually changing the way that enterprises operate and IT has become an important support point of corporate profits. Enterprise informatization and business process management are often interdependent. IT has become an important tool to improve the efficiency of process management and without the correct and reasonable execution of business processes we also cannot achieve the success of enterprise informatization. One word, the fusion of enterprise informatization to business process is on the basis of that business processes are not only standardized and optimized, but also stable, reliable and continuing work properly. The purpose of this dissertation is to study the problem.Firstly, on the basis of related research of business process management and survivability theory, we proposed the definition of business process survivability. After that we proposed several evaluation indicators of business process survivability as follows:reliability, maintainability, mean time to failure, mean time to repair, mean time between failures, availability and performability. We can calculate evaluation indicators through solving the Markov chain.Secondly, we studied business process failure and responding fault-tolerant strategies. Failure means the process of business process changing from available to unavailable, and it is the premise of survivability study. Two direct causes of business process failure are resource failures and structural problems and two fault-tolerant strategies are repair and redundancy. In this dissertation, we studied the models of business process failure, business process repairing, and business process redundancy and analyzed their characteristics.Finally, we studied business process survivability through simulation experiment and application analysis. In the simulation experiment we studied the model of business process redundancy and in the application analysis we studied the model of credit card applying business process. With models and methods proposed above we can resolve practical problems of enterprises. On the basis of previous research, with the combination of business process management and survivability theory, we proposed the definition and evaluation indicators of business process survivability, and studied calculation method of survivability evaluation indicators based on Markov chain solving process. After that we modeled business process survivability with stochastic Petri net technology and studied characteristics of different structures. Then we analyzed business process failure and responding fault-tolerant strategies and studied business process survivability evaluation method through simulation experiment and application analysis.
