With the full liberalization of China’s banking industry, the industry is facing unprecedented opportunities and challenges since2006. Due to the level of banking institutions’ bargaining powers and services gradually become close to each other, the competition is increasingly fierce. International business, characterized with high and quick yielding, is an important means of modern commercial banking for making profit and marketing to abroad. After China joined the WTO, the international business competition has intensified. The commercial banks pay close attention to international business.Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) was founded in1984, which is one of the world’s500companies. Secondly, the thesis studies the internal environment by evaluating ICBC’s resources and capabilities to find its own strengths and weaknesses. Finally, the thesis introduces a competition strategy for ICBC’s international business, and develops some feasible measures for the strategy implementation.Five Forces Model, SWOT analysis and other methods are used effectively in the thesis. It recommends the differentiation strategy which will promote the international business to develop healthly, rapidly and sustainably, and thus help to consolidate and strengthen its industry leading position. |
