Farmer is the most active element of the substantive elements of the agriculturalproductivity. The quality of farmer scientific and technological level decide agriculturalmodernization development. To evaluate the farmer’s scientific and technological qualityscientifically and rationally, this thesis used many ways to collect information, includingquestionnaires, field investigation, structured interviews, document retrieval, and used thestatistical analysis methods to research the farmer’s science and technology quality in lessdeveloped areas.This thesis consists of four parts. The first chapter is consists of five small parts: The firstsection described the background of the farmers technical quality problems. On the one hand,China’s agriculture is affected by the impact of globalization. So we must learn from theexperience of the United States, and take the path of sustainable development of agriculture.On the other hand, although China’s agriculture has made considerable progress, but therehave been a series of problems. Therefore, government made new policies to support thedevelopment of agricultural modernization. The second section explained the concept of theless developed regions in terms of economic, cultural, social and natural environment, anddefined the quality of farmer form the awareness of science and technology, scientific andtechnological knowledge, and the use of modern technology. In the third section, the thesistold us the research results from the domestic and foreign scholars, and proposed use thecombination of quantitative and qualitative and multi-angle way do the study. The forthsection described the theoretical and practical significance. The theoretical significance is toconstruct a theoretical model to enhance scientific and technological quality; Practicalsignificance is Provide the basis for construction of modern agriculture in less developedregions, also provide a reference for the less developed regions to develop and implementpolicies. The fifth section described the contents of this thesis and the approach to the study.The second described the development of the agricultural economy from regional GDP,agricultural machinery power, irrigation and water conservancy construction, food cropssingle output and per capita ownership, Balance of the farmers. And described the basic information of the developed area farmers science and technology quality from technologytraining needs, culture education facilities, farmers’ cultural level, farmers’ scientific literacy,farm machinery application situation. At the end, the thesis found existing problems on thebasis of study above.The third chapter is divided into two parts. The first section provided a brief descriptionof the survey, and discussed the the scientific of the sample. The second section made acomprehensive analysis of scientific and technological quality from the farmers’ science andtechnology awareness, knowledge and technology utilization. The study found that more andmore farmers agree that agricultural science and technology play a decisive role inagricultural development, and there is an urgent need to use technology to improveagricultural production status. But, because of their week willingness, and single method tostudy the science and technology capacity, they didn’t have much enough scientific andtechnological knowledge, and their ability to use technology is limited.The forth chapter analyzed the geographic conditions and the farmer’s traditional conceptof Yanchang County.And using the descriptive analysis, correlation analysis, chi-square test,linear regression analysis to study farmer’s scientific and technological quality.This thesisselected the variable, technology using ability, as the explanatory variable. And selected theexplained variable, including the frequency technology training, the phone family owned,farmers’ age, the way to learn agricultural science and technology, family size, the computerfamily owned, educational level,arable land, the family net income. And on that basis, Thisthesis did multiple linear regression analysis, and established a regression model.The fifth chapter describes the over all situation of the rural area scientific andtechnological quality. And proposed many ways to improve farmer’s science and technologyquality, such as increase rural education and training, develop Order Agriculture, establishagricultural cooperative, establish information network, establish agriculture science andtechnology demonstration park. And the end, This thesis proposed only break the bottleneckof agricultural science and technology quality can agriculture modernization be carried out.
