Equipment manufacturing is a strategic industry in the national economy，as well as theleading one in the development phase of the industrialization, the leading industries. With thedeepening of economic globalization.With the economic globalization,Chinese equipmentmanufacturing industry is facing an unprecedented challenge, which need to improve itslong-term competitiveness through constant technological innovation. Sustainable developmenthas been widely recognized as a strategic approach for human beings in the future,therefore it isnecessary for Chinese equipment manufacturing industry to choose a innovative technology toachieve the sustainable development.This paper firstly describes the theory of sustainable technological innovation,bycomparing the sustainable technological innovation with the traditional one, while also definesthe concept and content of the sustainable technological innovation.
