Avoiding construction disputes require a broad understanding of the contractual terms, organization structure and interpersonal communication within a project. This research examines, among other things, the causes of disputes in construction projects in developing countries industry. The industry subjected to the influence of highly changing variables and unpredictable factors, which could result from different sources from different conditions. To identify some of the critical elements in construction project disputes, the research investigates management process, delivery process adopted with the effects resulted from the disputes, it is looking at the way disputes can be evaluated and managed. The results of this study indicate the critical key causes of construction disputes relate to changes, delivery process selected with the complexity of the project. It is the writers’opinion that special attention to factors identified in this study will help developing countries industry in minimizing disputes on construction projects. Widespread use of the Alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods is hindered mostly by a general lack of awareness of their existence and unfamiliarity with their workings among stakeholders in the industry.
