With the furthur development of globalisation going on, performance management, one of the most important part of human resource management is capturing more and more attention from different areas. Under the circumstance of the financial crisis, private enterprises, playing a main part in domestic economy,now is facing a big challenge. In order to shed a light on how to emhance the development of private enterprises,this thesis analyzes and studys on the application of key performance indicators in business management.The theoretical foundation of this thesis is the system of management on key performance indicators.The thesis selects some under-development high-tech enterprises as the object of study, from the perspective of the strategic objective, searching for a coordinated key performance indicators, selecting a key performance indicator of the enterprises, and to establish a mode of the performance management of the enterprises.In order to the application of the key performance indicatators in developing high-tech enterprises, this thesis selects FD Company in He Fei as the objective for the empirical study. According to the current state of FD Company, the thesis formulates a scientific strategy for the development of the company, helping the company to reorganize the organisational structure,further refining the strategic objective for the company, colsely combining the key performance indicators with departments in all levels, and ensuring the weighting and proportion.The main procedures are as the following. First, to obtain the knowledge of the problems in performance management of FD Company by investigation:first,the foundation of management in the company is weak; second,the lack of the instruction on management theory in the process of running the company;third,the objective of the performance assessment is single.Second,in order to unify the administration and employees, promote and introduce the crucial meanings of performance management. Let FD Company be fully aware of the crucial meaning of performance management to the company:first,the benefit to accelarate the reform of the distribution system in the company; second,the benefit to improve the level of management of administration;third,the benefit to enhance the harmonious labor relation;fourth,the benefit to enhance the fast development of the company. Finally,the design of the performance management system. Due to the fact that the performance management is the core of the management assessment and the management assessment involves the profit of all the staffs,we have to take the emphasis of the top design and the interests from all staffs into consideration when redesigning the system of performance management.Therefore, the thesis puts forward5perspectives according to the performance management:the objective of performance and the plan,the application of performance and drills,the assessment and evaluation of the performance,the feedback of the performance and the face-to-face talk,the application in steps of the outcome of the performance.First, on the perspective of the objective of performance and the plan,through the refined disorganization of the overall objectives of the company in levels,to make the administration and the staffs come into a consesus through several rounds of talks. Second, on the perspective of the application of performance and drills. This is the process on which the administration put emphasis, playing a part as the communication of the upper and the lower,whose effect directly decides the effect of the performance management. Third, on the perspective of the assessment and evaluation of the performance,on the one hand,the administration has to put a just assessment on the performance of the staffs,taking the acountablility of managing the less better performance of some of the staffs.Fourth,on the perspective of the feedback of the performance and the face-to-face talk,the administration has to inform the staffs of the results of the performance of assessment,in order to encourage the current levels of the performance.Fifth, on the perspective of the application in steps of the outcome of the performance,FD Company employs the performance assessment as a means to enhance the management,emphasizing the outcome of results of the assessment.This kind of mode can further improve and develop the sense of strategic objective in the mind of the administrators of enterprises, improve the effect of the communication between the administration and the staffs, make sure of the responsibilities and rights of the staffs,furthur enhance the the sense of responsibility,belongingness and achievement,thus improving the level of the overall level of the performance. Of course with the changes of the outer environment and the developmeng the company itself, the company will need to constantly refresh the system of performance management, thus making a continuous effects in the process of the performance management.
