The contribution of human capital on economic growth has been a consensus that human capital have long been included in the model of economic growth, but, existing research mainstream focus in the field of education human capital and research on health human capital as foundation of return on education investment is not enough. Both health human capital as an important part of the human capital and education human capital are important component of human capital. Health can improve individual’s labor productivity, which is an important investment to promote the quality of economic growth and has great significance in policy on government redistribution of social resources. Physical and mental health is not only a foundation that people are engaged in all activities, but also to accept the premise of continuing education, at the same time, which is not only related to each person’s happiness, but also a necessary Condition for jointly constructing harmonious society must condition. In the past30years, China’s economic has been developed rapidly and the gross domestic product has maintained a rapid growth, China’s health status has greatly improved at the same time, but with the development of social economy, the demographic transition problem is imminent, environmental pollution problems becomes rougher and rougher and the countries’health systems and national health are facing more and more challenges. Therefore, the studying of health human capital contribution to the whole economy has a very important theoretical and practical significance.This paper takes China’s30provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions as study objects, using a combination of literature study, theoretical and empirical, qualitative and quantitative analysis. At first, the paper whole hackles domestic and foreign scholars literature on the study of health human capital and economic growth, specially the measure of health human capital, and summarizes the concepts, characteristics, nature of health human capital, systematic analysis the contribution mechanism and influence path on health human capital to economic growth based on the theory of human capital and economic growth. Then, health human capital index constructed by objective factor analysis is calculated by the case of2009, and makes ranking of health human capital index in30provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. Finally, the paper studies the effect and promotion of health human capital on economic growth, using three kinds of panel data econometric model of mixed least squares, fixed effects and random effects, based on panel data of30provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions between1998-2009.The conclusion of this paper are as follows:Firstly, from factor analysis of composite score of health human capital, in addition to the eight cities of Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Liaoning, Guangdong, Fujian, the other cities are lower than the national average The cities above the national average are all higher than other cities in the awareness of medical insurance and medical service quality, which show a greater correlation in the health of unbalanced development and regional economic development level. Secondly, ordinary labor, physical capital, health human capital index and education human capital estimated by generalized least squares correction of heteroscedasticity all pass a1%significance level test wholly and have a great effect on economic growth. Health human capital coefficient is0.258, which shows that China’s economic growth will increase0.258units along with health human capital for every one unit increase and draws the conclusion that health human capital as an important part of human capital have a significant role in promoting effect on economic growth.Finally, on the basis of the conclusions on the empirical analysis, this paper put forward some policy suggestions to strengthen our health human capital for the current situation of health human capital and economic growth mainly. Firstly, investment in health should be enhanced and the health of residents in China should be improved. Secondly, investment in hygiene should be taken seriously and the public health service system should be improved. Thirdly, the Government’s efforts should be strengthened and the scope of government health spending should be expanded. Fourthly, health awareness should be enhanced and the field of health services in China should be broadened. Last, medical personnel should be trained and a good health care market should be builded.
