On The Establishment And Application Of Corporate Social Responsibility Of The Commercial Bank

The public nature of commercial banks should undertake and carry out corporate social responsibility, it not only helps to strengthen commercial banks’business Foundation, but aslo improve the competitiveness and the sustainable development of commercial banks. To evaluate and compare the social responsibility of the commercial banks’performance, we can understand the depth and breadth of commercial banks to participate in social responsibility and know what needed improvement.First, this article is based on business ethics theory, stakeholders theory and the financial sustainable development theory, and then defines the social responsibility of commercial banks, should on the basis of abide by the laws, regulations and business ethics morals, try to meet the need of stakeholders and, at the same time, in order to achieve and maintain the sustainable development of the social. Then the paper base on its own characteristics of commerical banks,follow certain index selection parinciples and the weight coefficients of every evaluation index are determined with the Analytic Hierarchy Process,constructed the commerical banks social responsibility evaluation index system which include three levels and45indicators. Finally, selected16listed banks, to evaluate and compare the social responsibility performance of these commerical banks.The results show that the16listed commercial banks’ social responsibility have a good practice condition overall, but also found there are certain gap at responsible for customer, support community development and environmental protection enterprise among these commerical banks. The study also found that listed the social responsibility of the commercial bank report almost no negative information disclosure.
