Human resource management plays an important role in attracting and retaining talents, it also can develop the potential usefully. The performance appraisal is a very important part of human management, the result of the performance appraisal always be used as the basis of promotion and punishment. How to use the performance appraisal fully? The company must know the steps of the performance clearly, and spend enough time to plan every step of it, so that the performance appraisal can be used fully.The performance appraisal management was used widely in china, it also be used in some state-owned enterprises, Z water company is a company restructured from sate-owned enterprises. In this article, we talked some related theories firstly, including the performance, the performance management and the performance appraisal. in this part, we also talked some assessment methods, including the key performance indicators and so on. And then we compared the advantages and disadvantages of these methods. Then we analysis the performance appraisal form the actual situation of Z water company, we analysis the problem in the performance appraisal recently, including the employees know little about the performance appraisal and so on. The on the basis of these problem, we improve the performance appraisal of Z water company, because different employee has different needs, so we plan different performance appraisal index. In order to make the new performance appraisal system can be carried out smoothly, at the end of this article also cited a number of security system, to facilitate the smooth implementation of the new evaluation system. These security system include:to establish the scientific concept of performance appraisal within the enterprise; and strengthen institution building; to step up publicity and improve the enthusiasm of employees’ participation.The topics of great practical significance, enriched the related areas of research in China, also provide a reference for other similar corporate employee performance appraisal.
