Lean six sigma is a kind of advanced management mode. It is the perfect combinationbetween lean production and six sigma. Its essence is to reduce process variation, eliminatewaste. The purpose of Lean six sigma management is to absorb the advantage of twomanagement modes, make up the deficiency of the single mode, achieve bettermanagement effect, it is not the simple addition of lean production and six sigma, but theirmutual complement, organic union. Lean six sigma can provide low cost, high qualityproducts, provide solid foundation for the enterprise market competition.BD Suzhou Company was established in1996, with the rapid expansion of productionscale, many problems of production management are exposed. In order to solve theseproblems, the company decided to implement the lean six sigma management in operationmanagement system. The principle is formulated the practical step based on the actualsituation, a few simple lean improvement projects use lean methods to improve directly,the majority of the project follows DMAIC process and joined the lean ideas, tools andmethods. BD Suzhou Company made various effects by carrying out lean six sigma. Theirexperience shows that implement lean six sigma management must determine the rightway according to the actual situation of the enterprise; the basic work as productionmanagement and quality management must be well done; must establish lean six sigmaorganization and personnel training; must establish the evaluation system and the resultsincentive system of projects. On the other hand, we can see some weakness from existingproblems, the emphasis of implement lean six sigma should be placed on long-terminterests, unfavorable seeking too much short-term financial income; Should be in thedesign, the production, marketing and the supply chain down streams gradually, should notbe limited in the manufacturing process; Evaluation index should include the improvementof customer satisfaction, personnel training, and the improvement of the quality assurancesystem, should not be limited in the financial indicators.
