Study On Spatial Temporal Change And Coordinated Development Of Regional Economy In Gansu Province, Based On GIS

Since regional planning was highly emphasized, regional coordinated development has become a concerned problem of China, especially the coordinated development about the Eastern, Central and the Western of China. The regional development policy of China has great change since the recent decades:from the planned economy policy to the market economy policy, from unbalanced regional development to the regional coordinated development, from giving priority to the Eastern coastal areas to the Western regional development. Recently years, the State Council has introduced a number of policies to stimulate the development of the Western China. Such as the fourty-nine opinions on the economic development of Gansu Province etc. These policies have great effect on the economic development of Gansu province, and all these policies proved that: the coordinated development policy is the current and future direction of China’s regional economic policy.Ten years before the Western regional development, the economic level of Gansu Province has been in a long low level state. Some cities in Gansu even has negative growth situation. Since the implementation of the Western regional development policy in1999, the investment to Gansu has great increased, and the economy development has rapid and great growth. At the present time, the level of economic development state of Gansu province still far from the average state of China though, the steady increase and rapid speed can proved that the economic development of Gansu has been in a good state of development. And the trend of the economic gravity center in recent fifteen years has proved that the western area of Gansu has great proportion on economic aggregate and the eastern areas of Gansu are now developing dramatically.This paper based on the theory of balanced regional development and coordinated regional development theory, analyzing the changing of provincial economy of Gansu in recent twenty years. And then calculate the coordinated degree of the14cities of Gansu, found that the cities with high economic development degree has high coordinated degree. Afterwards, the paper did a comparative analysis about the economic development in the87counties or cities of Gansu on the year2000,2004and2009. This comparative analysis proved that the economic relationship between the87countries of Gansu has great change in recent ten years, the regional uncoordinated statement has been existed in the year of2000, and in the year of2009, there are more and more high-low areas. From this, we can get two conclusions:(1) the economic development of countries in Gansu has greatly improved;(2) many countries has faster development rapid than other countries of Gansu. In a word, the economic development of Gansu has experienced from low level, unbalance development to high level uncoordinated development.
