Foxconn Technology Group is the world’s largest electronics manufacturingenterprises, specializing in computer, communication, and consumer electronics (3C)industries OEM. Since2000, mobile phone, computer and other electronic productsrenewal speed; in addition after the financial crisis in2008, the internationaleconomic environment continues to worsen. In the context, new product developmentand market cycle in Foxconn is becoming shorter and shorter. PRAC is an in-housefactory of Foxconn and dedicated to supply plastic raw materials to molding plants,also faces huge pressure in the development of plastic products and the promotionperiod. Therefore, PRAC is urgent to introduce appropriate project schedulingmanagement theory and method, to shorten the cycle of the product development andmarket promotion, to meet customer demand, and promote the market competitionability of PRAC.In Foxconn, project schedule management is the topic most concerned by theexecutives and managers, because time is life to us, while the product develops morequickly, it’s more likely to seize the market opportunities. PRAC continues to followup the group strategy, vigorously develops the plastics recycling technology andplastic modification technology. But in product development and promotion process,due to the lack of good project management method, the plan is not reasonable, orthere is no estimation and management for the possible problems in projects, theselead to frequent resistances even suspending in the period of product development;Sometimes because of not using effective methods to control rhythm, projectschedule is sluggish and project members blame each other for it; Sometimes wedoes not report the schedule or reports are not practical for supervisor to obtain thelatest progress, so we cannot obtain supports from supervisor. The above issues often occur in product development and promotion projects of PRAC, cause the projectschedule changes, and even affect achievement of the target. In order to overcome theabove problems, make the projects progress smoothly and reduce waste of time, weneed to import applicable methods of project management for Foxconn, then we canuse scientific methods and tools to breakdown the project effectively, plan reasonablyand implement orderly, make three project targets which is progress, cost and qualityorganically unite, so as to get the best results.This paper focuses on the scheduling management of the eco-friendly materialsproject. Firstly, this paper describes the project charter, uses the project workbreakdown structure to decompose the project objective, and works out projectnetwork chart. Secondly, this paper estimates the duration of project activities, usesthe critical path method to prepare the project schedule plan and use the methodwhich called wave planning to create detailed plan by stage, and then identifiesproject risks and makes prevention. Thirdly, builds progress tracking system in theprocess of project implementation, and analyzes deviation, thereby taking correctivemeasures to ensure the project progress always in the control, and describes theimportance of regular review. Finally, the paper makes a summary of the full text,sums up the gain and loss. I hope this research can provide beneficial inspiration toFoxconn in new product development and market promotion of the project progressmanagement, but also gives the coastal electronic industry enterprises similar projectmanagement to provide reference.
