Amt Enterprise Under The Environment Of Supply Chain Production Planning And Control Research

Strategic Scientist, Professor Igor Ansoff wrote the preface for a book, "Building the Flexible Firm", that "in the 21st century’s turbulent environment, the complexity from enterprise against environment reaction must match mutually with environment turbulence." Today, the challenge and difficulty which the numerous domain’s manufacturer face together is unable to be imagined comparing with the situation a decade ago. The technology development is fast-stepping, and the globalized competition emerges in all directions, also the customer demand is picky and does not allow nearly making mistake even rises to the flawless level. In order to realize Make to Order Production, the enterprise must accommodate the changeable customer demand by quick, flexible manufacturing approach.After thorough analysis of the original Production Plan and Control System of AMT enterprise, this thesis explodes some existing issues during real supply chain management. In view of these issues, the advanced information technology and the management concept is applied, and the Material Requirement Planning, Lean manufacturing/agile manufacturing & Theory of constraint is integrated too, to make the optimized improvement. Eventually, a new PPC system is generated and it suits for the enterprise to develop under the new environment. This system has also provided beneficial model for other similar business management pattern’s transformation.The following is the main structure of this thesis.Firstly, it elaborated the background environment and the competition tendency. Base on the literature research from both domestic and foreign, it analyzed the existing issues of the traditional PPC system in the supply chain environment, and then it proposed that the enterprise needs to establish the optimized PPC system which should match with the new environment.Secondly, it briefed the company’s background and operations situation, and emphasized the existing issues of the original PPC system in detail before optimization and the root causes as well. Thirdly, in view of these issues, it comes out with the proposal of the improvement steps and methods. The advanced information technology’s utilization includes:Data warehouse, computer network technology, linear programming analysis. Management concept’s upgrading includes:The VMI strategy, based on the existing ERP system, unifies the dynamic KANBAN system and the TOC to improve the present PPC situation for each Manufacturing firm, thus designs the optimization PPC model which is more suitable for corporate growth.Finally, it summarized application and obtains of the new Production Plan and Control system in AMT.The raw material structure of the product is simple in this studied company but the varieties of products are various and the batch is not fixed. The new PPC system has solved common issues in this production domain well. For other Manufacturing enterprises, it may use the APS software to construct lean/agile and flexibility manufacturing system for the enterprise and optimizes the supply chain system as well, if the product raw material structure is complex, or multiple BOM structure, and it achieves the supply chain plan to be synchronized eventually.
