In the new economic period, by globalization, information and knowledgeeconomy common influence, Competitive environment has undergone great changes:First is the main body of the competition has been from the enterprise level expandingborder to supply chain levels; Next is the time factor is and has increasingly becomean important source of competitive advantage. Therefore, from the time of the supplychain of the competition perspective competitive advantage has become an importantresearch topic, has the important theory value and practical significance. This articleis from this background, time-based competition of the supply chain of competitioncompetitive advantage and competition strategy began research.This paper has four aspects. The first aspect is Time-Based Competition of thecompetitive advantage of the supply chain competition theory basis, Mainlysummarizes the supply chain and supply chain management theory, time-basedcompetition and competitive advantage theory, differentiates the key concepts andcombed the related concept framework; The second aspect is time-based competitionof the competitive advantage of the supply chain began research, take example bycompetitive advantage and resource-based theory research framework degree-effect,construction of time-based competition of the supply chain competitive advantagetheory frame, involve the definition of supply chain competitive advantage, supplychain time value and supply chain time heterogeneity, on the basis of time value andheterogeneity, supply chain competitive advantage into supply chain ability advantageand supply chain position advantage, research the time period and time structure ofthe supply chain the influence of competitive advantage, shape the time-basedcompetition of supply chain competitive advantage model; The third is time-basedcompetition of supply chain competitive advantage in the competition of supply chainstrategy, analyses the time-based competition time compression and postponementstrategy, distinguish studied compression supply chain cycle of time to supply chaincompetitive advantage the situation and the value of the postponement strategy,Research that the implement of concurrent engineering, compression supply chainorder number, expand the supply chain network can improve the supply chaincompetitive advantage, extend the supply chain and delay depth can increase the valueof delaying tactics. Fourth, papers on Toyota and General Motors in the supply chainare analyze, through the analysis found that Toyota supply chain in the applicationtime-based competition build competitive advantage than GM. This is also Toyota andGM in the competition of success in the main reason.Finally, this paper gives some conclusion of the study and outlook, providingsome reference for the follow-up studies.
