Nearly all the enterprises are meeting a great challenge from global economycrisis recently. The economy slows down which began from American till globalcountries keep a company running difficulty. Meanwhile, the development ofeconomy globalization and market competition caused by technology developmentkeep company management thinking how to increase efficiency and decrease cost.Supply chain becomes important during this period for all the companies in the world.How to set up a distribution partner selection and evaluation rule based on supplierchain classical theory and keep a win-win relationship with these distributors becomesmore important as well for manufacturing companies during increasing theircompetitive power and coin company value.The paper discusses how to increase company competitive power at a fullcompetitive market through select and evaluate the best distributor by giving a trueexample of the top global connector maker—TE. The paper starts with anintroduction of electrical connector technology, then study current development statusand future trend of international automotive connector markets. Next, according to theconnector market characteristics and current problems during selecting connectordistributors objective the paper’s target, which is distributor evaluation and selectionfor automotive connector manufacturing enterprise. Then, the paper analysisautomotive connector distributor selection and evaluation process and highlight thepolicy of distributor selection rule. The paper gives a selection and evaluationguideline system which included below7fields too: company scale, companyinnovation and experience at connector field, company business advantage, products supply ability, customer satisfaction, financial performance and company competitivepower.At the same time, the paper compares the traditional evaluation methods,analyzes of the gray system characteristics of distributor evaluation and selection forthe connector manufacturing company and explained in detail the Gray-levelCombination Evaluation method to automotive connector distributor evaluation modelbased on Gray Relative Level and Analytic Hierarchy Process.Finally, the paper analysis a true sample of TE and introduce how the distributorevaluation and selection model process and make the effect at a connectormanufacturing company, then test the availability and possibility of the model andmethod as well.
