The Qing Dynasty, although the period of decline of science and technology inancient China, the literature development of this period is prosperity; as well as therehave been massive culmination of collating ancient books for the first time in our history.Also it involves the collation of scientific and technical literature. This paper aims todiscuss the collation of scientific and technical literature in Qing Dynasty from thereason of achievement, subject, content and achievement.The whole article is divided into four parts. The first part will describe the reason ofcollation achievement. The article discusses from the introduction of ancient academictrend, the official policy of Qing Dynasty and western science and technology.The second part will describe the collation subject. It can be divided into twocategories. One is the official agencies established by the government, mainly includingcabinet, the Hanlin Academy, the Wuying Palace compiled place, all kinds of librariesand the translation house. The other one is the private scholars, representatives of MeiWending, Dai Zhen, Li Huang, Li Rui and Li Shanlan. They all contribute to the collationof scientific and technical literature.The third part will describe the collation content. It mainly includes collation andannotation, textual criticism, collection, compilation and translation. Collation andannotation focused on geography, astronomy, mathematics, medicine, and other fields.Textual criticism contains farming, the ancient medical books as well as "history" in thegeography-related content. Collection includes Imperial Collection of Four and otherbooks. According to the genre division, compilation will describe Series, Encyclopedia,Zheng Shu, Local records and Atlas. Translation expound in the light of the Chinese andwestern communication.The fourth part will summarize the collation achievement. Qing dynasty is dividedinto two periods on the basis of the Opium War. In the early Qing Dynasty, collationachievement focuses on collation and annotation, textual criticism, collection andcompilation. In the later Qing Dynasty, it focuses on translation.
