M Company PLM Software System Project Management Process Analysis

This paper introduces the Management idea and thought of the Product Lifecycle Management system, PLM (Product Lifecycle Management)。PLM system aims at the product cost, quality and developing time during the product development process. It monitors products in each stage of the development process to confirm whether the new products achieve the desired results or meet the market and customers’requirements to obtains substantial benefits to the companyThe paper firstly introduces the history and management thoughts of the product lifecycle management system, PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and introduces the M company’s situation and management needs. Confirmed that the PLM system management thought is the necessary to the M company. Secondly, it analyzes the main managers and effected range, via analyzing time, cost, resources and other related aspects to summarize the project planning. Thirdly, it analyzes the whole development process including the formulation, project plan, software design, coding, testing, and acceptance of the project and the ending stage to summarize the successful experiences of the project and the weakness. Finally, it analyzes the maintenance, supporting and management process of the system, and focuses on the classic project management methods in the implementation process of PLM to summarize the concentration for improvement and to provide the relevant experience for the project development.The paper also combines the project management knowledge and software engineering theory with the latest research results and the develop methods of the information system; it analyzes carefully the whole process of implementing PLM in the M company. Originally it sets up the start planning and optimizes the process, then from the software aspects in the mid stage, makes the software design and requirement analysis and conducts a preliminary test, and includes both the implementation and maintenance of the system and project management in the anaphase, Tracking the whole process of the project to provide a useful reference to the future projects’software system’s development and management.Finally, PLM can sum and analyzes all problems and advantages in the entire process of management. Through summary and analyzing various problems encountered combined with the characteristics of product useing the modern project management methods to puts forward countermeasures for management and communication problems. Also put forward improvement suggestions to the limitation of PLM as well.
