At present, in modern life the computer and the Internet is everywhere, and it has been used in people’s daily life, work and study. With the improving of computer hardware performance and development of software, the computer has already been used in every field of the human society. The dependence on computer is higher than before is not only because of the lower price of hardware of the computer but also the software which can provide various functions and convenient f or people’s work, study and entertainment. So people in all fields not only have greater demand of computer software but also have high requirement of functionality and performance. So it has more and more people pay attention of how to develop software that has full functionality and has high performance. This paper has analyzed related principles and methods of developing components from the aspects of improving the software reusability. Its purpose is to improve the reusability of software and to decrease the cost of maintenance of the software. Because good components must have a lot of validation, such components must have high performance. Therefore, we firstly analyzed three kind technologies of components on three different platforms (Microsoft’s Component Object Model, OMG’s Common Object Request Breaker Architecture and Sun’s JavaBeans) then on the basis of work above this paper gave the principle we should follow during developing components. At last, according to comparison of these three kind of technologies, we select one suitable technology to design application in this paper and we combine it with the requirement of Trademark review system to design the prototype component and the trademark name filter component.
