With the rapid development of mobile communication network and mobile phone technology, the coverage of mobile phones is bigger and bigger, and mobile phone is becoming an integral part of human life. The mobile phone application service is step into a new time. Mobile phone map service become the most popular and attention of the mobile Internet of the application. Single and web pages etc are the main use of map service mode, the mode by the user in the place limit, and is not suitable for the user to go out, travel use and limits its further development and application. Mobile phone map service wireless mobile communication network, easily broken the limitation of the geographical position for people’s travel brought great convenience, the use of mobile terminal portability and network data real time, even in the strange city site also won’t get lost. Based on the above analysis, developed in a concise and practical mobile map service is very good practical significance.In this paper, there is a forecast of the development trend of mobile map services, and give a main network map service interfaces comparative analysis among Google Maps API、Microsoft Virtual Earth API、Yahoo Maps API、Baidu Maps API. Firstly, further analysis of Android system architecture and platform features, and then to introduce Android system constitute key concepts such as Activity, intent and so on. Secondly, then the article describes the key technologies of the system: GPS simulation, the conversion of the address and geographic coordinates, Baidu map operations, application installation and deployment and other difficult problems. Finally, on the basis of deeply research on the mobile map service, based on Android platform,I design and development a mobile maps service system. The system includes browse city map, place search, self-localization and other functions. After the system test, the paper presents the design of mobile map service system, fast response, loading time is short, positioning precision, and can satisfy the basic needs of most users and has certain practical application value.
