A Mobile Ad hoc Network is a kind of mobile wireless network which is self-configuring and decentralized without having a fix infrastructure. The network has gained rapid progress in business and military area due to characteristics of self-organization, survivability and robustness. Under the ubiquitous environment, based on interests or purpose driven, using the carry-on mobile devices, users can fast form a Temporary mobile ad hoc network which is oriented-group and has a relatively stable topology. With Multi-devices cooperating efficiently and sharing services actively, users can achieve win-win, and network can realize various mobile business applications. These scenarios depend on the very optimistic assumption of cooperation of all the nodes in sharing various services, but in reality mobile devices often become a selfish node because various limited resources, such as energy, wireless bandwidth, CPU, storage and so on. Selfish nodes are unwilling to share downloading, storing, processing and other services, just be a Free-Rider enjoying shared services of other nodes. Over time, the nodes’enthusiasm of sharing services will suffer a severe blow so that providing services in Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs) will be untenable. This paper studies the selfish behavior of nodes during consciously sharing services for MANETs, and presents oriented-service reputation-based incentive mechanism for MANETs. Firstly, considering characteristics of network structure of MANETs, presents a cluster-based reputation model, which consists of direct reputation, recommended reputation, function reputation and comprehensive reputation, and gives the approach of reputation computing; then presents a reputation-based services differentiated incentive mechanism, which can comprehensively motivate nodes to share services positively with three kinds of incentive schemes:the function reputation-based service access control incentive scheme used to control nodes’ service request and provide nodes differentiated services, service registering incentive scheme used to motivate nodes to register more services so as to increase the quantity and variety of network service, and service supporting incentive scheme used to motivate nodes to provide honest and reliable services actively so as to improve the network service satisfaction. Simulations show that our Mechanism can resist the selfish behavior of nodes during sharing services effectively, and improve the service ability of MANETs.
