| In recent years, with the development of wireless networks and the popularity of mobile terminals, the development momentum of the mobile Internet is rapid. With the rapid development of the mobile Internet, especially with the rapid development of mobile communications, monitoring technology develops from the wired network monitoring to mobile wireless monitoring, remote monitoring systems have begun to enter people’s vision. The remote monitoring system is not only with the traditional monitoring functions, but also has the mobility and real-time, enabling users to control via the mobile device anytime and anywhere, in line with the trend of diversification and modernization.First, this paper studies the technology that building the entire remote monitoring system, these technologies include the development and transplantation of the embedded Linux operating system and the researchment and selection of the ARM11hardware platform whose core is S3C6410microprocessor,the building and development of the Android smartphone operating system platform, transport protocol between the wireless network, a new generation of H.264video codec research protocol, the difficulty lies in the development and design of the server-side operating systems and client applications.Next, the paper is studying the design of the overall architecture of the remote monitoring system. We will effectively combine the embedded technology with the digital remote monitoring system to form the remote monitoring of home security systems based on Android. The entire system uses a two-tier structure of the server and the client, the server-side bases on ARM11hardware platform whose core is S3C6410 microprocessor, the client is the mobile terminals that built-in Android operating system. The realization of implement the purpose of monitoring through a wireless network anytime and anywhere is perfectly.Followed by a detailed study of the design of the remote monitoring system server and client. The server of the remote monitoring system completes the video capture, compression and transmission work, major researches focus the acquisition of the video data based on V4L2, video data compression through MFC based on the H.264protocol, the wireless transmission of video data based on WEB server and CGI and the display of video data based on QT. The client completes acquisition of the monitoring data, the major study focus the design of video player based on the Android operating system and the design of the video capture application’s UI.Finally,the paper tests the entire system.
