In distributed data acquisition system, data analysis was affected in a great degree by real-time transmission of equipment, especially in experimental modal analysis of the mechanical structure, because of the higher inherent frequency, modal coordination is mainly decided by synchronous data transmission of different measuring points. However, in certain conditions (experimental environment, weather conditions, etc)existent synchronization methods, such as GPS, NTP, Line synchronization, could not meet either low-cost or high-precision advantages. In this context,IEEE1588precision time synchronization protocol was officially launched. IEEE1588synchronization protocol is a protocol enabling precise synchronization of clocks in measurement and control systems implemented with technologies such as network communication, local computing, and distributed objects,it was mostly applied to new type measure instruments based on LAN,LXI equipments. It can compute the time offset by means of timestamps in packet exchange between the network nodes. In this paper, fundamental theory of IEEE1588protocol was researched in depth Firstly, then software and hardware implementation method of1588was analyzed. Type selection and function configuration of the transceiver, and also the1588protocol software development in Linux embedded platform was elaborated in detail. At Last node synchronization accuracy error and synchronization stability were analyzed, also with some feasible improving schemes. A synchronization module based on1588for data acquisition equipments was completely accomplished in this paper, which can meet the actual engineering applications. Synchronization accuracy can be reached within100nanoseconds.
