Research On Key Technologies Of University Informationization Construction Based On Shared Data Center

Computer and network technology has got rapid development and popularization since it came out, informationization has caused radical changes both in people’s work and life. University informationization construction also has got development and popularization since1990s. With the development of university informationization, most departments of the universities gradually established their own information management systems, which can help improving their management efficiency.With the further development of university informationization, requirements for trans-department business and data sharing become more and more urgent. While majority of the systems existed are designed and implemented to meet the individual department’s requirements. And this situation results in a problem called "separated information islands", which cannot achieve the information sharing for trans-department. Therefore, it is necessary to provide an overall solution which can set bridges between these "separated information islands" to achieve data sharing and integration.This paper is the summary of the author’s university informationization working over the years. By researching the experiences of university informationization home and abroad, combining with the practical situations in our school, and basing on the fact that it do not affect the existed systems, this paper proposes the solution to solve the "separated information islands" problem by establishing a shared data center. It can achieve information and data sharing in campus by making a holistic schedule for all campus information systems, extracting public data subset from departments’systems, designing uniform code for these data, and saving these data in the shared data center by data synchronization strategies.The solution realizes the unified authentication platform with single sign-on and single-off on the basis of the shared data center. Shared data center and unified authentication platform make it possible to develop systems for trans-department and trans-business according to actual business requirements. All these new systems can be developed as plug-in. These applications can get data from shared data center and achieve unified authentication by simple configurations. For all the resources and applications in campus, this solution has established a unified information portal, by which users can access campus resources easily and operate the authorized systems after being authenticated.
