Design And Implementation Of Educational Resource Sharing Platform Based On Virtualization

With the rise of open online courses in colleges and universities, distance education has attracted more and more concern. However, there are still many problems in the development of informatization of basic education: low resources sharing rate, huge management difficulty and slow technology innovation. So, it is necessary to apply modern technologies to informatization of basic education.The fast developing virtualization technologies can effectively solve the problems exist in the sharing model of traditional learning resources. Virtualization technologies can make full use of system resources, reduce resource cost, reduce management cost and improve the portability, reliability and expansibility. So, to design a basic platform of resource sharing based on virtualization has far-reaching significance for informatization of basic education.The topic discussed in this paper is derived from a national pilot project of educational informatization. By analyzing the problems exist in the current resource sharing system, this paper explores how to apply the virtualization technologies to the system effectively and then designs and implements a resources sharing platform in basic education based on virtualization.The main work is as followed:1. Introduces the research background of resource sharing technology and the research Status at home and abroad, analyzes the current problems, compares mainstream solutions, elaborates the benefits and necessity of the application of virtualization in resource sharing.2. To understand the infrastructure virtualization, the systems virtualization and the software virtualization and do research on how to apply the virtualization technology to resource sharing more effectively.3. To ensure high scalability and efficiency of the system, on the basis of national standard of basic network resources, a set of resource models is designed, including resource identification model, resource classification model, resource property model,resource storage model, resource sharing model and resource search model.4. Analyzes the demand for resource sharing platform to determine the overall design target of the system and designs the overall framework and the various functions of the system. And then this paper uses the SSH technology and VMware v Sphere software to implement the resource sharing platform based on virtualization according to the system design, compares the differences before and after virtualization, and introduces the steps from resources uploading to resources sharing in detail. Finally, taking the educationally digital resource service platform in Shenmu county of Shaanxi Province as an example, the system is put into practice and tested. The test results shows that the realization of the resource sharing platform can satisfy the demand and reach the goal of design.
