A Study About Excellent Reporters Of Yan’an Generation

The excellent reporters of Yan’an generation is the object of the study, beginning with a core issue:what are the characteristics of the generation? What kind of position and meaning in the history of Chinese journalism? To investigate these questions, The author had examined them in a backdrop of war. From the start, according to the political, economical and cultural background in the last century1930s or1940s in Yan’an to review the evolution of the formation of the excellent reporters of Yan’an generation, analyze the causes of their cultural characteristics, and general features. Take a look at what had the historical parallel they had experienced made impact on them In the turbulent time, especially in the field of journalism theory and journalistic practiceIn the process of collecting literature material, the author found that these excellent reporters of Yan’an generation are mainly made up of young students who are full of youthful energy. They receive re-education in the border region of Yan’an, trained on Marxist ideology and influence, there is a process of gradual move closer to workers. Trajectory of this convergence is not only a way of life and living environment of adaptation and change, but also in the transformation of thought, maturity and the subtle changes of identity. Methods employed include documentation and comparative analysis together with field investigation.Investigation on this generation, since objects are many and complex, it’s hard to write about it all. So the characters of this article are classified into three categories according to business characteristics, also based on representative, community-centric. Several journalist groups are collected and summarized:Yan’an Liberation daily、 Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei daily、Xinhua News Agency,as a link to form a relatively concentrated communities. Choose them as an entry point for research; a lucid exposition of an outline, a sharp definition of categories; It is only by taking hold of the key link that everything else will fall into its proper place.; Once the key link is grasped, everything else falls into place. In order to make the excellent reporters of Yan’an generation more dimensional and stratification, the author provide a comparison form two dimensions:firstly, horizontal comparison, a longitudinal comparison of different stages of ideological dynamic generation of Yanan journalists, scattered in the full text; secondly, vertical comparison, the horizontal comparison and other intergenerational division of reporters, mainly the late age of Republic of China.The essay consists of four parts. First part is mainly to introduce culture background all these excellent reporters lived in. So I need to track their moves, observe the trait of how they assembled and study.Then we can see the outline of this group of reporters from different aspects of age, place of birth, educational background and etc. During second part of this essay, I will observe the shock the Press had among the Rectification Movement in1942, especially the situation of this generation of reporters, taking the revision of Liberation Daily in Yan’an from1935to1948as the starting point. Then based on the specific analysis of literature, the essay will depict the forming path of these reporters’journalistic ideology and news business. The third part will observe their deed and achievement after the foundation of the People’s Republic of China and study their important historical status and role in the press course after1949.I select three kinds of representative figures, including civil reporters like Deng Tuo, Mu Qing and Hu Jiwei, martial reporters like Yan Wu and Hua Shan and photographers like Sha Fei. Then study their characteristic from microcosmic angle which will be taken as the supplement of point-to-face and make the structure have branches and leaves. On the basis of first three parts, combing then social environment and historical background, the final part will sum these reporters’ generation feature, pay attention to the phenomenon of returning to innocence and need to rethink it for current reporter’ reference.
