With the rapid development of the TD-SCDMA system, study about how to measure electromagnetic radiation of TD-SCDMA network is significant. In the TD-SCDMA system construction of our country, the problem of electromagnetic radiation has got more and more attention. Currently, the research about TD-SCDMA base station electromagnetic radiation characteristics is not mature. In such a background, the measure method about electromagnetic radiation in TD-SCDMA system is a very important research topic.This topic mainly research about TD-SCDMA base station electromagnetic radiation measurement system and surveying solutions.Firstly, we design of a smart antenna signal strength measurement system. The measurement system achieves the functions that can measure multipoint signal intensity at the same time about the TD-SCDMA base station. The measuring system consists of a processor, a coordinator, and multiple measurements nodes. Every single node includes TD-SCDMA modules, ARM modules, ZigBee modules and GPS modules. TD-SCDMA modules are used to receive and measure TD-SCDMA base station signal strength. ARM modules are used for control all the modules and processing the data. ZigBee modules are used for communicate with other nodes and transmission the data. GPS modules are used to synchronization and positioning all the nodes. This method solves the questions about the jet lag, the position change, the accuracy and measuring equipment is expensive in the existing measuring equipment.Secondly, according to the working principle and the directional diagram of the smart antenna, we design of the stationing scheme and measurement scheme. Stationing scheme is used for different locations and different measuring points respectively. Measurement scheme is used for single user and multi-users respectively.Finally, according to the designed measurement system, we choose four TD-SCDMA base stations to measure the signal strength. The base stations include chemistry lab building base station, administration building base station, core teaching base station and the basic medical college base station in Zhengzhou University. Then we analyze the measurement results. The measurement results show that:(1) All measured values are less than the field strength standard stipulated by the state;(2) In the direction of main lobe, signal strength decreases as the distance of measurement point position is decreased. The signal strength of the measurement point on the same horizontal distance around normally distributed;(3) The affect of the distance between the measurement point and the base station change to the signal strength is larger, the influence of signal strength at the same distance but the different angle is smaller;(4) The attenuation of building is large to the signal strength;(5) The error of the data is small than the theoretical calculation. It suggests that our measurement system is feasible.Compared with existing technology, the design of TD-SCDMA base station for a multipoint signal intensity of base station signal intensity measuring system is realized with multi-point measurement at the same time, the measuring equipment is simple, low cost. The measurement results are more accurate.
