Coal is the indispensable energy to strengthen the economic development of our country and it plays an important role in our country economic development. In our country coal resources are widely distributed, but the distribution is uneven. In our country coal logistics cost is higher and our country coal logistics need reasonable organization. The coal logistics is bulk cargo logistics and it exists in the whole process which coal is from being manufactured to being delivered to users. The coal logistics cost is directly affected by the coal logistics network construction. The coal logistics network is made of coal logistics nodes and coal logistics lines. There are a large number of coal logistics nodes in our country. These coal logistics nodes are widely distributed. Chinese coal logistics lines’ distribution is very complicated, railway, waterway and highway choice was quite important. If the coal logistics cost want to be reduced by coal enterprises, the good coal logistics network service nodes must be selected.In order to reduce the operation cost of coal logistics network, the coal logistics network service node selection model is established according to the present situation of our country coal logistics network. The demand for coal, the characteristics of coal logistics nodes, the coal transportation mode and other factors are considered and combinatorial mathematics, operations research, systems engineering and modeling theory are used in the model. The coal logistics network operation cost can be reflected by the model. The general coal enterprise coal logistics network structure can be reflected by the model, which is a three stage supply chain network, including coal mine, coal hub center, coal distribution center and customer. After the model is established, the genetic algorithm is used to solve the model. In order to obtain the accurate solution, a new genetic algorithm using priority-based encoding be employed. Combining with genetic algorithm selection, crossover and mutation, the complete priority-based encoding genetic algorithm is composed. According to the established model and genetic algorithm, it is used for coal company A so that the model and algorithm through the specific case are proved.
