The global mobile subscribers have exceeded5.7billion until2011. Various types and applications of mobile terminal become richer and richer. Mobile communications are profoundly changing the way people communicate, even lifestyle. The rapid popularization of intelligent terminals, various Internet applications used in intelligent terminal and mobile network broadband technology brings the rapid development of the business flow. These high-speed data traffic growth has put forward higher requirements on the operator’s core network and access network. How to do traffic operations well, to maintain a good balance and fair with user’s demand, and to reduce the cost of network construction and operation at the same time, has become a common problem faced by operators.Because of its’high access rate, simple network structure, mobility, low network usage fees and better expansibility, WLAN has become one of the new bright spot in the communication field in the recent years. Major operators around the world continue to accelerate investment of the WLAN construction and deployment. However WLAN has the disadvantage of coverage and poor mobility. Integration of WLAN and cellular network can be a good complementary. In recent years, the major communication organizations, research institutions, operators and equipment manufacturers around the world have focused on the research of the two networks’integration.The research work of this paper is WLAN authentication technology and accessing cellular network’s packet domain by WLAN. WLAN authentication technology is one of the crucial stages of the WLAN and cellular network integration. It is the precondition of the deep integration. By the research of EAP-SIM/AKA and PEAP authentication technology, the paper gives their design and realization in the WLAN network. At the end of this paper, it gives the testing and analysis of the two authentication methods. The result showed that the optimization of the authentication methods can effectively enhance the WLAN user experience, promote the diversion effect on cellular network’s data traffic bringing by the WLAN network. A temporary solution will be given during the research of access to packet switch domain through WLAN. This solution is based on the MPLS VPN technology. Based on the characteristics of WLAN,it gives a network optimization method to the MPLS VPN access network by using multi-LSPs.The optimization method uses the sourse of the WLAN traffic or the type of the traffic to distribute the traffic between milti-LSPs.Then to achieve the network load balance,improve the utilization of the network resources and enhance the user experience.At la st, it uses s imulation experiment to verify the optimization method.
