Smart antenna technology is one of the most core technology of TD-SCDMA system. An effective smart antenna simulation planning algorithm, can accurately evaluate smart antenna performances, while a rough algorithm may bring great error to network coverage and capacity calculation evaluation.The paper first introduces the basic features and principles of network planning, antennas, smart antenna. These is required to facilitate the subsequent understanding of the content and performance analysis; then the thesis analyses the existing smart antenna simulation method, pointing out the deficiencies of it; Next, the paper presents a new simulation method and put it into codes. By comparing the new algorithm with the existing algorithms as well as the measured current network data, the thesis studies the validity of the new algorithm.The focus of this paper is to propose a new type of smart antenna solutions applicable to the existing network. In the network planning tools that widespread now, smart antenna operation strategies are similar. In the same time,most planning tools only consider one mobile phone user, and choose the most suitable smart antenna pattern from the built database that consist of several experienced antenna patterns. This mode is not suitable in existing telecommunication network for the dynamic channel allocation error and rough choosing way of smart antenna pattern. Based on this, I creatively propose a new type of smart antenna solutions in current network, with the combination of hotspots using adaptive antenna and shaping figure screened in the general area. At the same time, a new pattern choosing standard is created, making excessive consumption of resources of adaptive smart antenna be solved and, at the same time, ensure the validity of the results of the algorithm. The new plan guaranteed a more accurate simulation of smart antenna in the actual scene of the existing network running.
