DTV Network Topology Discovery Research And Implementation In NMS Based On SNMP

With the gradual deepening of China "Triple Play", digital communication technology is developing rapidly. DTV is more and more welcomed by the public. DTV networks become larger and larger, more and more complex. National and provincial TV stations and digital television network equipments manufacturers have an urgent need for integrated management of their complex DTV network of equipments. They want to ensure the normal operation of DTV network, so they can improve the competitiveness and stability of DTV services. While the current network management solutions for DTV network are generally based on a one-to-one network device management in WEB. They always have a lack of comprehensive management system for DTV network. The purpose of this project is to design and develop a network topology system, based on SNMP, having the functions that are collection and processing of DTV network’ information, completing network management system and network topology. The system is designed to draw DTV network topology map, and integrated all network management’s functions, so that the users can have a visually and integrated management of DTV network.The paper first introduces the proposed background the subject and the NMS framework design in accordance with ISO. Then it introduces the key technologies involved in the network topology system developing, and the SNMP (Simple Network Manager Protocol), MIB-Ⅱ norms and ICMP protocol. Then it describes two classic network topology algorithms, one is based on SNMP and the other is based on ICMP. Based on the two algorithms, design a more efficient network topology algorithm. On the basis, design the NMS which is a SNMP and WEB. Then make a detailed description of various functional modules in the network topology design, achieve the various functional modules with java, explain the java class design in detail and make the implementation of all the functional modules of the network topology system. Finally, make the system testing, ensuring the network topology system reliable and efficient, when it is integrated into the centralized network management system. The whole network management system operates efficiently and has a good quality. The subject has a great deal of research and practical application for further network management software development. It has a great optimization value.The design of this project has been completed. The network management system of DTV networks with the integrated network topology system has an excellent performance during the system test. The NMS has been delivered. Finally, summary and suggest some improvements recommendations.
