Nowadays, the development of wireless heterogeneous networks (HetNet) has been impeded by three major contradictions:1, conflicts between the scarcity resources and low resources utilization;2, conflicts of independent optimization of resources in an isolated network and convergence requirements of heterogeneous networks;3, conflicts between non-ideal operation and precise configuration of HetNet. To solve these problems, make the wireless network develop from closed style to a heterogeneous one, from static mode to dynamic adaptive mode, it must have a high cognition capability of the network, wireless environment, service and user, in order to implement the coexistence of heterogeneous networks. As a result, the key to solve the above contradictions is to solve the problem of cognition of the complicated heterogeneous environment and the cooperation of multi-domain wireless resources.To counter the above problems, this paper investigates the key technology of cognitive radio with the assistance of short-range communication and the integration of multi-domain resource cognition and cooperation. The main research content includes:First, analyze the application scene and method of short-range communication network in cognitive radio system. It is mainly composed of two points:short-range communication assisted spectrum sensing and short-range communication assisted cognitive transmission.Second, introduce the design and implementation of a distributed spectrum sensing system, which is one application of the short-range communication assisted spectrum sensing. This system makes use of GNU Radio&USRP software defined radio platform and through the local area network it realizes the visualization of spectrum. Last, to investigate the short-range communication assisted cognitive transmission, on the basis of multi-domain cognition and cooperation theory, this paper investigates the classification and modeling method of multi-domain cognition resource and the method of integrating cognition and cooperation. Propose a cognitive and cooperative gateway’s topology and a CRN-assisted RAT allocation scheme under the framework of the gateway. Its key idea is through the match of service with different QoS and RAT with different QoS support capability, to introduce the cognitive radio network into the real system and improve the utilization of network and spectrum resource.Through the theory and method introduced in this paper, the problem of low utilization of heterogeneous network and spectrum resource can be solved, provide a new technical routine for the convention of heterogeneous network and design of cognitive radio system.
