Tunable fiber laser is a new kind of laser devices developed recently. It is also one of the hot spots in optoelectric information. Its applications become more widely in optical communication, the military, the medical and so on. This thesis demonstrates a wavelength-tunable fiber laser based on an Opto-digital-micro-mirror-device (Opto-DMD) processor, which can give an output with high SMSR, excellent stability, narrow line-width. It also has advantages of high tuning accuracy and power equalization. It can be potentially used for DWDM system, large-capacity optical fiber sensing network and so on.The main contents are listed as follow.1. The laser generation theory and the laser’s features of Erbium-doped fiber ring laser pumped by980nm laser in front has been Elaborated. The polarization-maintaining gain module based on EDF has been analysis by this thesis, which can provide36dB gain.2. The diffraction mathematical model has been built by the theory of the frequency selection ability, dispersion effect and diffraction efficiency of the plane grating and the Opto-DMD processor. Best factors for the laser system has been settled which satisfies the condition of approximate shine and experimental constraints. The system can get lower loss and make the single of more stability by adopting these factors.3. The integrated control system of the gain module and the Opto-DMD processor has been designed and developed based on the basis of an IPC touch screen computer, which realized the highly integrated, intelligent and precise control. 4. One channel and three channels tunable polarization-maintaining fiber laser has been realized with high stability based on the Opto-DMD processor and EDFA, which can be tuned from1530nm to1560nm. The tuning step is0.08nm. The line-width is0.02nm. The SMSR is greater than60dB. Every channel can work with high stability at room temperature.5. The three channels tunable fiber laser machine has been developed successfully and the expected goal of the machine has been achieved.
