With in-depth study and extensive application of wireless sensor networks (WSN), monitoring of WSN has become increasingly important. WSN is widely used in many fields. Real-time monitoring has important significance in the research and development of WSN. In order to complete the task of real-time monitoring efficiently, the WSN system which is responsible for data acquisition, data processing and data transmission must meet the needs of the periodic acquisition and transmission with low power.WSN test platform is proposed in this paper. It consists of the building of wirless sensor network platform, design of sniffer, USB data transmission and protocol ananlysis software. Sniffer is responsible for capturing the data of WSN (802.15.4protocol), enveloping the data and sending the data to monitor host. Sniffer is CC2531USB Dongle with CC2531chip of TI Company, which integrates a high performance processor and a RF module and has USB controller which communicates with PC by USB interface. Sniffer software uses IAR integration environment and completes the function of data acquisition, data processing and data transmission. Protocol annlysis software is the data analysis center of test platform. It tests communication ability of the network by data acquisition, data parsing, data display, so it improves the development efficiency of products and reduce risk and cost greatly.This passive test system is isolated from WSN, does not occupy the resource and bandwidth of WSN, and avoids interference with WSN. Experiment results show that this passive test system can work stably and monitor effectively the organization process and network state information of WSN.
