With the rapid development of economy and society, market demands for theproducts present the trend of diversity and rapidness. Traditional project developmentoften uses liner developing process, by analyzing project requirements, system-leveldesign, specific design, realization of software and hardware, design verification anddebugging, processing test, all of these steps need different work groups with varieddevelop tools. The whole develop process is sequential, not iterative developmentmodel. So, developing with traditional liner model is not efficient enough, and with itslong developing cycle, can no more meet market demands. With the demands of modern enterprises for the parallel project of designing, realizing, testing and producing simultaneously, MathWorks toolset from MathWorksCorporation provides a integrated rapid solving solution for the realizing of parallelprojects, by achieving all stages in the development process. Developers can usnSimulink and Stateflow in Matlab to build functional model and complete the initialdesign. In xPC Target environment, using Real-Time Workshop, RTW, rapidprototype system, developers can real-time test models with xPC Target or Real-TimeWindows Target. By connecting models and physical systems with rapid prototypetargets, controlling physical device with target application programs generated byMatlab/xPC real-time simulating environment, developers can observe controllingeffects on the physical device and adjust the simulation parameters or change themodel to meet the needs. These steps are called semi-physical simulation, orhardware-in-the-loop simulation. This process makes developers able to find modeldesign defects or errors in real-time simulation procedure and fix them in testing step;what’s more, semi-physical simulation is no more a kind of pure digital simulation inideal state but taken factors such as disturbance and noise into account. Thesimulation results are much better than ones of digital simulation, and more close to the actual situation. In this paper, the main goal is to build a semi-physical simulation platform, basedon xPC Target real-time simulation system verification platform. xPC Target in thispaper is used as host-target mode, with Ethernet communication on TCP/IP protocol.Flash disk is used for target boot. In xPC Target environment, driver blocks formultifunction DAQ device Advantech PCI-1711are developed with C MEXS-Function. Drivers are tested by building simulation models and verifying real-timeperformance and reliability of simulation results.
