With the high development of society and the improvement of human’s living standards, modern human are giving more and more attention to the health of the heart. With the pressure of working increases, the incidence of heart disease is growing higher. A variety of heart diseases are affecting human life in varying degrees. Since a patient with heart disease can only go to hospital in very limited times, it is very necessary for them to get a portable ECG monitoring equipment. As we know, these equipments are welcome by more and more people.In this paper we discuss the collection, transmission and analysis of ECG signals. We firstly introduce the ECG, followed by the common format of ECG and the correct read of ECG signals. We transmit the data by the ZigBee protocol, and write an application program in host computer to read the data. ECG data’s dynamic display is achieved. Then we make the detection of ECG characterization by two extraction methods. Finally, we analyze the ECG data of meditation practitioners. We find the multifractal singularity spectrum during meditation is significantly narrower than those during the pre-meditation state, which indicates that during meditation the heartbeat becomes regular and the degree of multifractality decreases, which proves that the meditation exercise can actively change the regulation of cardiovascular system, and the physiological status is more stable.
