Terahertz (THz) wave occupies a very special position in the electromagneticspectrum which has a series of special nature, it has important academic value.Photonic crystal fiber (photonic crystal fibers, PCF), also known as porous fiberor fiber structure) to distinguish it from the unique advantages of traditionalfiber and its broad application prospects become in recent years a number ofscientific research hot spots. The product of the combination of photonic crystalfiber THz waves photonic crystal fiber has also been developed by leaps andbounds. The THz waves photonic crystal fiber production process defects willcontribute to the THz device in-depth development and progress as well as toaccelerate the commercialization process; the new THz waves photonic crystalfiber design and theoretical research will also become a hot topic. The mainwork of this paper includes the following aspects:(1) describes the characteristics of a terahertz wave and terahertz applicationstechnology status;(2) describes the classification of the photonic crystal and the main features ofthe photonic crystal and numerical methods;(3) About the physical properties of the liquid crystal, the analysis of the opticalcharacteristics of the liquid crystal, and provide the theoretical basis for thebelow research;(4) the nature of the use of two-dimensional photonic crystal and liquid crystal controlled combined production or design of tunable terahertz device is aneffective control waveguide terahertz waves;(5) a versatile two-dimensional photonic crystal waveguides, coupled modetheory in the cavity to remove the central cavity of return loss, plus changes inthe distribution of the electric field and the liquid crystal molecules are orientedby simulating the waveguide in the closed sub-beam, straight,90°twist betweenthe four states change multifunctional system integration.
