Since2001, China mobile GPRS networks for commercial; the network structure and network scale has changed enormously. However, data service still mainly bearings in EGPRS (GPRS/GPRS and EDGE). The company’s current goal is to improve data service market competitiveness, create new profit point for the company, therefore constantly improve the performance of the network and service quality become the important task of GPRS network optimization. Currently, GPRS networks are composed of GPRS wireless networks and GPRS core network. The purpose of this paper is writing about how improve and optimize quality of the existing core network in the rapid progress of wireless network.This paper according to further studies the core of network structure and signaling process, combining the working practice, discovered the core network in the network structure and signaling process exist in the following two aspects of the problem. One is the frame relay bearing GB interface network structure too complicated, detrimental to adjust, and because of the bandwidth is restricted, utilization rate is bigger, another is the traditional signal process optimization method can only for a single network interface for analysis, therefore difficult to quickly locate data signaling existence problem. According to the problems, this paper put forward the network structure and signaling process optimization idea and method. Work mainly includes the following aspects:First of all, the dissertation introduces GPRS networks evolution process and the research situation in domestic and international.Secondly, introduces GB interface technology, including GB over FR and GB over IP, then emphatically expounds GB OVER IP technology networking architecture,and using the technology to improve and optimize the existing network structure.Once again, the dissertation analysis and improve traditional means of signaling optimization, it puts forward GPRS signaling analysis model, meanwhile introduces the structure and function module model, then based on this model and established GPRS signaling analysis system.Finally, through applied the network structure means and signaling process optimization analysis method in actual network, and achieved good optimization effect. Adopt GB over IP technology solved the problems that complicated network structure, less bandwidth utilization of GB interface. Using the signal analysis system discovered core network equipment SGSN, GGSN exist problems of packet delay longer, and retransmission rate larger, after in targeted adjustments related parameters of the core network the problem solving.
