Nowadays, the telecommunication market in China has witnessed an evolution. With the diversity of market demands and competition modality, the competition among various giant telecommunication providers increases. The range and level of competition enhance especially because of the competition between providers in mobile telecommunication business. For network device manufacturers, the criteria of several algorithms are different, which makes maintainers difficult to compare and analyze the overall situation of the network efficiently. Therefore, how to efficiently monitor the operation situation of devices among different manufacturers in order to improve the network service quality is necessary. Hence, the author incorporates the practical demands of users to develop network optimization analysis software of A-interface (which is between BSC and MSC interfaces). The software is able to help maintainers detect and locate the fault device to improve network service quality regarding the way with which maintainers are familiar in their daily usage and detection. The developed software complies with the practical demands of users according to technical standards of concentrated signaling monitor platform of China Mobile. The organization of the paper is as follows. Firstly, a brief review about the development of GSM, its characteristics, the importance and related standards of developing A-interface software for signaling monitor is elaborated. Secondly, the basic knowledge of A-interface is introduced; the possible functions of it are analyzed as well. Thirdly, services may detected via A-interface during mobile telecommunication phrase, such as calling, analysis of SMS, position, switching and topic, are analyzed. Last but not least, the functions of the developed software and its GUI are introduced.
