With the rapid development of video processing technology and computer network technology,the security industry has also ushered in a golden age of development. As the hub of the securitymonitoring system, DVR plays an increasingly important role and is widely used in various places,such as schools, hospitals, railway stations etc. This paper proposes a multi-channel DVR systemdesign scheme based on the DaVinci processor TMS320DM368according to the actual requirement.The designed system is based on embedded Linux system, takes advantages of small size, goodstability and low power. The system can also support video real-time capturing, audio data inputting,H.264encoding compression, data transporting through the network, the movement of objectsdetecting within the scope and video recording to hard disk. The users can also set the systemparameters with the help of infrared remote controller. This paper is mainly to complete thefollowing five aspects of work:Firstly, the paper gives a comparison between mainstrean design schemes based on thefunctional requirements of the designing system. According to the selected design structure and coreprocessor, the paper proposes a scheme for Multi-channel DVR system’s hardware design based onDaVinci multimedia processor TMS320DM368which is produced by TI company.Secondly, according to the different functions of various parts, the designed system is dividedinto six sub-modules, namely: video I/O module, audio I/O module, storage module, system clockmodule, power supply module and other interfaces module. Also, the circuit design process andcomponent selection principles are elaborated in detail.Thirdly, through the analysis of high-speed circuit signal integrity theory, the control measuresof the frequently asked questions of signal integrity such as reflection, crosstalk, simultaneousswitch noise as well as electro-magnetic interference are given. And on this basis, the designprocess of the system PCB board layers, device layout, PCB traces is presented.Fourth, in order to complete the design and development of device’s firmware and driver, thispart firstly does some work at the booting process of Boot Loader by transplant the UBL andU-boot program; Then, the driver development process in embedded Linux platform and videocapturing principle are presented respectively; Finally, the driver development of multi-channelvideo acquisition based on MCVIP is complete.Finally, in order to evaluate the performance of the designed system, the test results on hardware and software of the device are given. The results show that the multiple DVR’s hardware design iscorrect, every module can work effectively, and the designed system has achieved the expectedrequirements.
