With the development of modern mobile communication technology and the smooth settlementof a variety of key technologies, the number of mobile communications users is growing. And theusers also pay more and more attention to the quality of network communication. In order toprovide the best quality service to more users when achieving the optimal investment cost, thenetwork operators found the increasingly importance of wireless network optimization. The data collection is one of the most important steps in network optimization, in which the traditional drive test with artificial participation is one of the most commonly methods of data acquisition. But there are many disadvantages of traditional drive test, such as high-costs, large number of equipment, high labor intensity, and without the capability of long-term test, which can not satisfy the demand of network optimization test. In this paper, a smart drive test system based on the CDMAnetwork, which can be achieved without human scene involved in automatic data acquisition, has been designed in order to solve the problem of spending lots of human resources in the traditional drive test. The smart drive test system consists two parts: smart data collection terminals which can befacilitately installed in public transport vehicles, and the background analysis system. The functionsof smart data collection terminal includes the realization of the task request, simulations of the truefeelings of the user according to task parameters, real-time acquisition task data upload, the terminalstate upload and error correction processing of the collected data. The background analysis systemincludes user interfaces and database analysis, the main achievement of which is the formulation ofthe task, receiving mission data and status data, terminal monitoring, statistical analysis, variousforms displayments of parameters, and report generation. Actual operating results show that thedesign of the program is reasonable and effective, the module developed is stable and reliable, thenew design can well reflect the network conditions and achieves the requirements of the wirelessnetwork test.
