In recent years, the stable tracking platform technology develops rapidly. The platform can be installed on different carriers such as vehicle、boa、ship、airplane and so on, and they’re used in various fields.Based on a certain research project of vehicle-borne stable tracking system, this paper gives an overview of the development status of the stable tracking system at home and aboard. And then, in accordance with the functional requirements of the system, the hardware design of the controller has been done, and the work about multi-serial ports communication based on FPGA has been researched deeply.Based on the actual requirements of the system, the core controller which takes DSP TMS320F28335as the core has been designed. With this controller, the system can achieve the tracking function stably. The main tasks of this paper contain:The hardware circuit design:the hardware circuit is divided into three circuit boards:the core processing board、the signal interface board、the strong electric control board, and the three board design is accomplished separately. The core processing board is used to realize the main control function. The signal interface board is used to match electrical characteristics of the signals between the core processing board and external devices. The strong electrical control board is used to implement the control work about strong electric, and protect the system safely. Besides, the main chips of this circuit have been selected.According to the characteristics of multi-serial ports communication, FPGA is selected for serial port expansion. It is used to realize serial data transceivers and the communication with DSP. The program writing based on Quartus Ⅱ software and Verilog HDL programming language has been completed. It includes clock management module, the serial receiver module, serial transmition module, DSP reading and writing module. Besides, this paper gives a solution for the main modules to work regularly.At last, the hardware debugging work has been done. The result shows that the hardware circuits are effective.
