Fuze is an important part of warhead and the entire ammunition, it plays a role of executive device of terminal effect in weapons system. Whether it can perform well determines the success or failure of the weapon system against the goal of confrontation. Miniaturization and intelligent is the inevitable trend of modern fuzes, fuze systems are developing toward the direction of the mechatronics instead of traditional mechanization. The traditional mechanical fuze mainly complete the corresponding action by sensing the force of external environment, which are mainly completed by machinery.Piezoelectric actuator is an new type actuator developed from1980s, it is a device of converting electrical energy into mechanical energy, which has features of compact structure, flexible design, fast response, no electromagnetic and so on. Such advantages make it can be integrated in security system of fuze, it provides a good foundation for miniaturization and intelligent of fuze.The main contents are as follows:(1) Two types of piezoelectric actuator were designed combined the application background of S&A in fuze and the characteristic of piezoelectric actuator, and then the linear actuator was chosen as the emphasis.(2) The operating principle of linear piezoelectric actuator was analyzed in detail and the structure was designed. The structure was optimized with the target of consistency of first-order longitudinal vibration frequency and second-order bending vibration frequency of the stator. At last the prototype was machining and the modal frequency was tested.(3) The boost drive circuit of LC resonant was designed based for the space of fuze system was limited. The circuit can work without transformer, which reduced the size of entire driving circuit effectively and offered the possibility of taking them to application in fuze system.(4) Speed, response time and impact resistance of the piezoelectric actuator were test at last to verify the feasibility of its application in fuze system.Through the above research, it lays the foundation for application of piezoelectric actuator in fuze.
