Radar-countermeasure including suppression jamming and deception jamming isan import method in EW. With the development of the radar technology, more and moreECCM are applied successfully. The tactical performance and ECCM of radar havebeen enhanced. So the traditional EW technologies are faced with challenge.As a new jamming technology, DRFM is applied in EW equipments. It’s aneffective method for jamming PD radar and PC radar. However, in modern battlefield,the electromagnetic environment is very complicated. So how does DRFM work underthis conditions is very import.An application of DRFM for EW is presented in this paper includes structure andblock diagram. Next a model of DRFM is introduced. Based on the model, an analysisfor the characteristic of the output signal of DRFM is presented.Then the abilities of multi-signal processing of DRFM are discussed. And thispaper also analyses the functions of multi-signals processing of single-channel DRFMand two-channel DRFM. We get the mechanism that DRFM can not work normally incomplicated electromagnetic environment.For improving the abilities of DRFM, some methods are presented in this article.The first is optimizing the design of DRFM which includes applying high-speedlocal oscillator and modifying the signal channel of DRFM.The second is filtering in frequency domain. A filtering device is fixed in signalchannel to filter unneeded signal. And we can apply a digital channelized receiver inEW, which can provide the needed frequency code to DRFM. Thus the unneededsignals are filtered in frequency domain.The last is filtering in time domain. A PRF tracker is installed into the EW to workwith the DRFM. And the PRF tracker can select the needed signal to DRFM. So we canfilter the unneeded signals in time domain.
