In the modern business environment, decision-making and competitive strategiesbecome one of the most important factors for enterprise’s getting success.Decision-making is also based on information. However, varieties of business data arestored and distributed in heterogeneous environments. Uncontrolled data flows;Multiple extraction of the same data; Local BI initiatives (without global agreement);Several inconsistent data models; Silos, standalone systems; An unreliable corporateinformation basis (unreliable headquarter reporting); Overall: Redundant, expensivedevelopment. On average, the pure volume of data grows up to90%every year, and aconsiderable part of data is handled in Data Warehouse systems. However, it is not onlythe data to be handled in the Data Warehouse systems that grows considerably, but alsothe number of BI analytical solutions (for each application). These problems puzzled thedevelopment of enterprise information.Definition and Criteria EDW:All decisions made for the entire company;Toproduce a valid and stable corporate DataWarehouse solution, which satisfies all thedemands for a piece of integrated and consistently structured information; Data can besearched and analyzed over the whole system between different departments, modulesand business within the company. It is necessary to adhere to generally acceptedguidelines.;The Enterprise Data Warehouse architecture reflects all of these decisions; The architecture is a "system design" decision which is valid and stable for a specifiedtimeframe. The Enterprise Data Warehouse architecture usually consists of systemresource, data picking, data combination, implementation and information display. This thesis discusses the EDW data warehouse design and related technologies isdiscussed in this paper, the main part of the system is designed and some of the keytechnologies had a further discussion. A brief representation of background information, main structural elements and papers structure is stated. EDW construction of the maintechnical principles is used in the actual physical data storage are described; Needsanalysis for the EDW program implementation is designed by modules, which availableon both logical and physical structure within the program. EDW model describes levels of detailed analysis and design. The content of the paper is summarized at the end;which discusses both the success and shortcomings, pointing out the way to improve thedirection and goals.
