| In recent years, with the increasingly improvement of e-government and therapid development of a variety of e-government applications in Shaoxing County, users’demand for broadband applications becomes more and more urgent. How to provideusers with broadband application services of VOD (video on demand) based mainly onmultimedia streaming services plays an important role. It can not only enrich staffs’network work and entertainment content, but also promote staffs’ professionalknowledge from online videos.By analyzing a large amount of data about Shaoxing County’s external network,the thesis established an on-demand data flow model, a concurrent user model and auser volume model. On the basis of mathematical models and trends, we designed theconcurrent quantity which would meet the VOD system and a total system bandwidthwhich should provide. We analyzed the I/O bottleneck of VOD system server storage,calculated the velocity of memory I/O and network I/O, the minimum duration thatsystem can provide and the throughput rate. And then, we designed the server project(using RAID5disk array) of on-demand and live video broadcasting system forShaoxing County e-government external network. We also launched a total solution thatconformed to the system through comparing the Real and Media streaming mediatechnology and using intelligent flow on streaming media technology. The project hashigh expansibility, high security, and high reliability. In addition, by analyzing thelogical structure of the on-demand and live video broadcasting system, we designed aplatform software system, developed a background database, and finally realizedon-demand and live video broadcasting system.At last, the thesis summarizes the features and advantages of the on-demand andlive video broadcasting system for Shaoxing County’s external network and looksforward to the future of the on-demand and live video technology. |
